Secondary Porphyria

Did you know that not all porphyria is hereditary?   I’ve heard, for some time, that some chemicals can cause porphyria.    In doing research on diet related to porphyria, I found some discussions about secondary porphyria caused by treatment of chlamydia. This should be extremely helpful to those of us with hereditary porphyria, in that there are probably many more people with chlamydia than with hereditary porphyria; this will result in much more research into treating porphyria!  I’ve taken some of their suggestions into account by modifying the type of fish and meat that I consume.

I’ve added a couple of related web pages in blog rolls on the right side of the page.
