The Snickers commercials nailed it.  You are not yourself when you’re hungry…especially with porphyria.   The effect is many times as strong because the glucose starvation is deeper & then you throw in those nasty porphyrins.

    Omg no doubt. I have aip, Crohn’s, & fibrous dysplasia. I will get severely nauseous, vertigo, cold sweats, and eventually full on seizure if I let myself get too hungry. For 35
    years I thought it was normal. Snickers IS right, lol, I’m a monster when I’m hungry
    because I don’t want it to progress into a full-on flare!
